Virtual Y Questions

Thank you for your interest in the Virtual Y! Virtual Y is a stand-alone web site site hosted in the Y Cloud ecosystem.  While the Y Cloud team will take care of your site setup, hosting, and maintenance of your Virtual Y site, the association will have full control over the site itself.  That is, associations will be responsible for overall content, whether it be on demand videos, streaming media, virtual meetings or blog content.  Associations also have control over the general look and fee.

The below set of questions will expedite the setup of your Virtual Y site.  Our goal is to have the base site configured for you before our first meeting together.

Please fill out the form to the best of your ability.  No worries if you're unsure on some of the questions below, most everything can be changed with ease after the fact.  If you have any questions, please reach out to ycloud@ymca.net at any time!

What URL would you like members to use to access the site?  The Y Cloud provides the base domain of “y.org”.  Please provide your sub-domain preference.*

Please provide the subdomain you would like to use.
What is your association's time zone?*

Do you want to require members to login to access content?*
Several gated options are available
How would you like content to be gated?*

Note, the email validation option will require members to access their email and click on a link to validate ownership.  The option not requiring validation will only require members to provide an email matching that of the member list uploaded in the CSV file.

We will work with you to load your members into the Virtual Y site to enable restricted access.

Please note, Daxko Single Sign On requires use of the Daxko API.  We will work with you to obtain proper administrative credentials and endpoints during the onboarding process to setup Daxko's Single Sign On.

Alternately, Daxko provides a bar code validation service that can be used with a "virtual branch" to gain access to the Virtual Y content.  More information may be viewed here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5tuj79dpe34m4bg/Daxko%20Operations-8June2020FINAL.pdf?dl=0

We will work with you to obtain proper administrative credentials and endpoints needed to setup Personify's Single Sign On.

This will enable your Google Analytics account to receive usage information from the Virtual Y site.

What color scheme would you like to use?*

Other content items such as images, copy, or page level considerations will need to be collected and implemented as well.  We'll work with you to perform the initial setup of these items, but we'll look to the association to provide all necessary images, text, and direction.

Specifically, we'll work with you to do initial setups of the following

  • Video Categories
  • Setting up the equipment list necessary for members to participate in the video or streaming content
  • Setting up the difficulty levels of the video or streaming content
  • Setting the correct meta-data for the video or streaming content such as instructor names.

Please let us know your initial thoughts on these items.
